The average U.S. consumer worries about money six times a day. Over half (56%) say they often overextend their spending and are left in a difficult position. Nearly half (49%) of consumers won’t complete a purchase if a retailer does not offer a pay-over-time option at checkout. Affirm Consumer Spend Report

36% of Americans took on holiday debt this season, up from 31% in 2020. Borrowers owe an average of $1,249, down 10% from $ 1,381 last season. Parents with children younger than 18 and millennials were most likely to take on debt. Source: Lending Tree

Texas, Florida, Tennessee, South Carolina and Arizona are the top five growth states in America, based on one-way U-Haul truck transactions in 2021. The Lone Star State earned bragging rights as the leading growth state of 2021, narrowly besting Florida for tops honors. California is 50th and Illinois 49th for the second consecutive year. The median home sale price rose 14.6% year over year to a new all-time high of $361,171. This comes as the number of homes for sale fell to a record low. New listings and pending sales both dropped to their lowest levels since January. Source: Redfin

Home prices continue rising faster than wages throughout much of the country. The median national home price has shot up 17 percent over the past year to a record high of $317,500. More than a third of consumers between the age 18-54 own cryptocurrency according to a recent study by Cantaloupe. People ages 18-34 most likely to own it, and individuals 35-54 (33 percent) trailing only slightly. 67 percent of those who own crypto are willing to consider using it for purchases if it were linked to a mobile wallet.

Three-in-five subscribers to multiple streaming services expressed frustration with their viewing experiences. 44% of those surveyed indicate they spend more than six minutes searching for something to watch.
